How to screen record your TikTok video

The instructions below only apply if you're creating your video directly on the TikTok app.

If you created your video outside of TikTok using other video editing software/tools (ie. iMovie, Final Cut Pro, etc.), upload your content directly to #paid for review and approval.

Why do I need to screen record my (draft) TikTok video?

If you are creating your video directly on TikTok, you'll notice that TikTok doesn't let you download the video unless it's posted. As a result, you might have trouble uploading the video you created to #paid for the brand to review.

As a workaround, use your phone to screen record the draft video you created on TikTok and upload that to #paid.

How to screen record your TikTok video

If you're using an Apple iOS device (ie. iPhone), open the Control Center, tap "record" and wait for the three-second countdown. Click here to learn how to enable screen recording on your iOS device.

1. Create your video on TikTok

To get started, open the TikTok app and create your video with edits, sounds, effects, etc.

 

2. Add a caption

Add a caption and get ready to screen record your (draft) video in the next step!

3. Open Control Center, tap "record" and wait for the three-second countdown to begin recording

You'll know you're recording when you see a red label in the top-left-hand corner of your iOS device.

4. Tap on your video's thumbnail and let the video play all the way through

The screen recording will begin to record your video along with any sounds included in your video.

 

5. Stop recording once your video has played all the way through

Once you've stopped recording, the video should automatically save to your Photo library app.

 

6. Upload your video to #paid for the brand to review

All done! For the final step, upload your screen recorded video to #paid for the brand to review.
