- How to link your video after posting
- Where to remove an incorrect link and relink properly
What is a YouTube Campaign Code?
When you accept a collaboration request on #paid that includes YouTube deliverables (Shorts, Dedicated Videos, or Integrated Videos), #paid will display the YouTube campaign code for each of your YouTube deliverables.
- This campaign code is created by YouTube.
- #paid surfaces the campaign code above your caption field so you can easily find it when posting.
- If you have multiple YouTube deliverables within the same campaign, the campaign code will be the same across those deliverables.
This code ensures that you link your content to the correct YouTube campaign inside the YouTube app.
How to Link Your YouTube Video While Posting
When uploading your video in the YouTube app, you will add your title, caption, and other details as usual. But then you must link your video to the correct YouTube campaign:
- Open the YouTube app and begin the posting process.
- Scroll to Paid promotion & brands.
- Tap to open that section.
- Scroll down to the Brands section and tap again.
- Look through the list or use the search bar to find the brand + matching YouTube campaign code shown on your #paid deliverable page in platform.
- Tap Select.
- On the next screen, tap I agree.
- Publish your video.
How to Link Your Video After Posting (If You Forgot)
If you forget to link your video to the YouTube campaign while posting, you can still link it afterward:
- Open your posted YouTube video.
- Tap Edit details.
- Scroll to More options.
- Tap Paid promotion & brands.
- Find the correct brand + campaign code.
- Tap Select, then I agree.
Additionally, if your #paid CSM tries to validate your post and sees it hasn’t been linked yet, they can trigger a push notification to your YouTube app prompting you to link the video. You’ll receive a pop-up directly in YouTube guiding you into the linking flow.
How to Fix an Incorrectly Linked Campaign
If you accidentally link your video to the wrong YouTube campaign, you can unlink it and relink it correctly.
To remove the incorrect campaign:
- Open your posted video
- Tap Edit details.
- Scroll to More options.
- Tap Paid promotion & brands.
- Locate the incorrect campaign and tap Remove.
Once removed, restart the linking process (following the steps above) and choose the correct brand + YouTube campaign code displayed on #paid.
We always recommend double checking the YouTube campaign code shown in #paid before linking to ensure accuracy!
Thanks :)
