Video Overview
Where do I License Creators?
Click on the Creator Licensing tab at the top of your account. You'll see two additional tabs within this view: Creators and Licenses. In this article, we'll be focusing on the Licenses view.
Why do I need to License Creators?
You need advertising access to a creator's Facebook page and Instagram handle in order to run paid social ads using their assets and content (paid creator ads). #paid's licensing tool lets you easily license creators to gain advertising permissions and lets you manage your licenses in one spot. Learn more about creator licensing.
How do I License a Creator?
The Licenses view shows a list of creators you're currently working with or have worked with for all campaigns on #paid. Additional information is displayed for each creator (Name, Connected Instagram and Facebook, Recent Campaign, etc.)
1. Click the "License" button for the creator you want to run ads with
#paid will take care of the rest and create the partnership between you (the brand) and the creator.
2. That's it! ✅
You now have advertising access to the creator's Facebook page and Instagram handle within your Business Manager.
Once the creator is licensed, the License button will change to "Remove License." You don't need to click this button unless you want to remove them as a partner or swap licenses. The Licenses count (top-left) will also update showing you the licenses you have remaining.
Note: If the creator you are trying to license has a greyed-out License button, this means they are currently disconnected from Facebook on #paid and need to reconnect first. Please email help@hashtagpaid.com for help.
Where can I find the creator in my Business Manager?
Once the creator is licensed, they'll automatically appear in your Business and Ads Manager. There are two ways to find the creator's assets:
1. Find the creator under Pages
Reference #paid's Licenses view to find the creator's Facebook page. Then in your Business Manager, click pages under Accounts and search for the creator's page:
By default, the connected Facebook user on #paid is assigned to the page in Business Manager. This lets you select the creator's page later when building ads in Ads Manager. You can assign other team members to this page by clicking "Add People" if they'll be helping you build ads.
2. Find the creator in Ads Manager
If you're not seeing the creator's Instagram Account in your Business Manager, visit your Ads Manager and you should be able to find their Instagram handle there.
First, reference #paid's Licenses view to find the creator's Facebook page and Instagram handle. Then in your Ads Manager, click into a Campaign followed by the Ad you are working on.
Under Identity, click the Facebook Page dropdown and search for the creator's page:
Once the Facebook page is selected, the Instagram account will automatically appear and be selected too. If this doesn't happen, search for the creator by their Instagram handle.
How do I remove a License on #paid?
If you no longer need access to the creator's assets or need to swap licenses, you can do this in #paid by clicking "Remove License."
Important: Make sure the creator is not being used in any active ads before removing their license. Clicking "Remove license" will revoke advertising access to the Creator's Facebook page and Instagram handle from your business manager. Any active ads using the creator's assets will be paused in Ads Manager.
Once the license is removed, the License button will change to "License." The Licenses count (top-left) will also update showing you the licenses you have remaining.
