Why can't I license a creator on #paid?

When licensing creators on #paid, you may encounter an error that says "Failed to license creator."

If you see this error, it might be because the creator already exists as a partner within your Facebook business manager. As a result, #paid is unable to share the creator's asset(s) since you already have access to them.

How can I check if the creator exists in my Business Manager?

There a few ways to confirm if the creator already exists as a partner within your Business Manager:

1. Search for the creator's Business Manager in the Partners tab

If you know your creator's Business Manager name, search for it in the Partners tab under users. The Business Manager's name varies for each creator but is usually their first and/or last name.

If you find the creator under partners, this confirms that they're currently a partner in your Business Manager. You can see a list of assets the creator has shared with you under "Assigned Assets."

2. Search for the creator's Facebook Page in the Pages tab

If you're having trouble locating the creator's business manager, you can search for a creator by their Facebook page. Reference #paid's Licenses view to identify the creator's Facebook page:

3. Search for the creator's Instagram handle in the Instagram Accounts tab

How do I remove the creator from my Business Manager?

To use #paid's new licensing tool, the creator will need to first be removed if they exist as a partner within your Facebook Business Manager.

You can remove partners by searching the creator's Business Manager name under Partners followed by clicking "Remove."

Clicking remove will temporarily unshare any assets the creator has shared with you through their Business Manager (ie. Facebook page and Instagram handle)

🟠 Important: Do not remove the creator if you are currently running ads with the creator's Facebook page and/or Instagram handle. Removing the creator as a partner will pause the Ad.

Licensing Creators on #paid

Once the creator is removed as a partner from your Business Manager, make your way back to #paid and you'll be able to License the creator using the new licensing tool.

When licensed successfully, your #paid account license will update and the creator will appear again within your Business Manager under Partners ✅
