If you've already provided #paid admin access manually in the past, you do not need to provide access again. You'll be asked to "Connect with Facebook" once in #paid but no additional changes will be made to your Business Manager.
Before Starting...
Understanding Creator Licensing can be tricky and confusing, we've created some additional articles on the subject matter:
Common terms for reference:
-
Business Manager is a Facebook tool that helps securely organize and manage your Facebook and Instagram businesses. This includes your Facebook page(s), Instagram account(s), ad account(s), etc.
-
Creator Licensing is when brands put their own media dollars behind your content in order to boost it to a wider audience beyond your following.
-
Partners are the brands you collaborate with (in and outside of #paid). You can have multiple brand partners if you're working on multiple campaigns.
Why does #paid need Admin Access to my Business Manager?
In order to put creators forward for campaigns with Creator Licensing components, creators need to first connect their Facebook Business Manager with #paid to become "License Ready." Once License Ready, creators aren't required to connect again unless they disconnect and need to reauthorize.
Connecting with Facebook lets #paid join your Business manager as an admin/teammate to help manage your partners during licensing. During licensing, #paid automatically provides the brand you're collaborating with temporary advertising permissions to your account and safely removes them from your account when the collaboration is complete.
Note: Your Facebook Business Manager helps keep your personal profile(s) separate from your business pages. #paid does not have access to or control over your Facebook and Instagram account(s); #paid can only see your name, work email address, and the Pages and ad accounts you've granted access for.
How much time do brands need to License my content?
Creator Licensing usually lasts for 3 to 6 months but may ultimately vary depending on your collaboration agreement with the brand. Please refer to your Collaboration Agreement in #paid for more details about your Creator Licensing terms.
What is Creator Licensing?
For most collaborations on #paid, licensing is a required component. In fact, 80% of campaigns on #paid license creator content. But, what is Creator Licensing?
In a nutshell, Creator Licensing is when brands put their own media dollars behind your content in order to boost it to a wider audience beyond your following. For example, a brand might use your photo and handle to create an Instagram ad; the brand creates and pays for the ad but distributes it to a wider audience.
The ad would look like something you posted yourself for any users scrolling through Instagram. But, they wouldn't actually see the ad or content on your page. For creators, this is great because your content is boosted from your handle, thus introducing you to new folks and followers!
