In this lesson, you will learn:
- Why you may be seeing an error when trying to connect your Facebook account to #paid
- What Meta’s Creator Discovery Program is and why access is required
If you’re seeing an error when trying to connect your Facebook account to #paid, it’s likely because your Facebook pages or profiles aren’t part of Meta’s Creator Discovery Program. This is a vetted and closed program managed by Meta, and at this time, only creators who are already accepted into the Creator Discovery Program are able to connect their Facebook accounts to #paid.
What is Meta’s Creator Discovery Program?
The Creator Discovery Program is Meta’s internal system that connects brands with eligible creators. Participation is by invitation only and controlled by Meta. Unfortunately, #paid has no control over who is included in this program or how Meta chooses to grant access.
Who qualifies for the Creator Discovery Program?
While Meta doesn’t publicly share all the details of its selection process, there are some general eligibility criteria:
- You must be located in Canada or the United States
- You need to have at least 1,000 followers on your Facebook page or profile
However, meeting these criteria does not guarantee acceptance. Meta uses additional internal signals to determine eligibility, and ultimately, it’s up to their team to grant access.
What does this mean for you?
If your Facebook page or profile isn’t part of the Creator Discovery Program:
- You won’t be able to connect it to #paid at this time
- You’ll still be able to connect Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and YouTube accounts and participate in brand campaigns that don’t require Facebook specifically
Can I request to join the Creator Discovery Program?
Currently, #paid does not offer an application process to request to join their Creator Discovery Program. If this changes in the future, we’ll update this article with steps you can take.
If you have any other questions or need help with a specific campaign, feel free to reach out to our support team.
