Issues with checking the Status
Before starting ✋
The instructions below only apply if you've already posted your video to TikTok.
If you have not posted your video on TikTok yet, please follow these instructions to enable branded content and add a TikTok Creator Marketplace (TCM) campaign before posting.
Checking your video's TikTok Review Status
Once your video is posted to TikTok, make your way back to #paid and click on the Content item you just posted for. Within the content view, click "Check Review Status."
We'll do a quick check to see if the video has been reviewed and approved by TikTok. TikTok reviews every video uploaded to make sure they adhere to TikTok's community guidelines.
That's it! 🎉 If your video is approved by TikTok, your content status will update to "TikTok Approved" on #paid and will soon be queued for payment 💸
Why do I need to check the TikTok Review Status?
Great question! All TikTok videos go through a moderation/review step by TikTok after they've been posted to ensure the uploaded content adheres to TikTok's community guidelines.
This additional layer of vetting is unique to TikTok's process, hence why creators are prompted to check the status of their TikTok video on #paid after it's been uploaded.
If your content is marked as "TikTok Approved" after checking, then we can safely assume that your video is brand safe and adheres to TikTok's guidelines. ✅
I'm having trouble checking my TikTok Review Status
If you're having trouble checking your content's TikTok Review Status on #paid, it could be because of the following reason(s):
1. Your Content has not been approved by the brand yet
If you're not seeing a section to check your TikTok's Review status, it's likely because the brand hasn't approved your content yet.
Check your content's status and if it's marked as "In Progress" or "Pending" you won't be able to check the status until it's marked as "Approved."
2. The video has not been posted on TikTok yet
If you encounter the error "An Error occurred. Please make sure your video has been posted..." this means your video might've not been posted on TikTok yet.
Check the status again on #paid after your video has been posted on TikTok (make sure to turn on branded content and link a TCM campaign when posting. Learn more)
3. The TikTok post did not have branded content enabled or a TCM campaign linked
If you encounter the same error above but have already posted on TikTok, you might have not turned on the branded content feature or linked a TCM campaign when posting.
#paid uses the linked TCM campaign to find your TikTok post and check if it's been approved by TikTok. #paid is unable to find the TikTok post if it's not linked to a TCM campaign. If you are experiencing this issue, please reach out to help@hashtagpaid.com!
4. Your video is still under Review by TikTok
If you encounter the message "Your content is still being reviewed..." this means your post is still being reviewed by TikTok and has not been approved yet. Please try again in a few hours!
5. The TikTok post was rejected by TikTok
If your TikTok Review Status appears as "Rejected" after checking, this means your video did not meet TikTok’s Ad Policies and community guidelines. Please make the necessary changes to your video and reupload it to #paid for the brand to re-approve. Once approved by the brand, upload the video to TikTok for review and approval. Learn more
