Why can't I connect with TikTok?

After logging in with TikTok on #paid, you might see a prompt that says "Switch to a TikTok Creator or Business account..." This is a generic error provided by TikTok if you're connecting an account that is not part of the TikTok Creator Marketplace.

Click "OK" and you'll see a message back on #paid that explains why you weren't able to connect with TikTok successfully:

How can I join the TikTok Creator Marketplace?

To be eligible to join the TikTok Creator Marketplace, creators must...

• Have over 10K TikTok followers

• Be over the age of 18

• Be located in North America

Once a creator meets the eligibility requirements (based on factors such as age, followers, video content, and engagement), they may receive an invite from TikTok to join. If you have a TikTok account the meets the requirements above and you're not currently on the TCM, you can request an invite to join here.

Note: The TikTok Creator Marketplace is managed by TikTok and not #paid; TikTok plans to expand its invitations to more creators over time.

How the Creator Marketplace works

After joining TikTok Creator Marketplace as a creator, you'll gain access to exclusive collaboration tools within your TikTok Account (App).

Within TikTok go to your settings, select “Creator tools,” then tap “TikTok Creator Marketplace” to manage your creator profile. Some best practices include editing your profile page and setting a rate for sponsored videos. When brands send you an invitation to collaborate, you will be notified with a notification, email, and SMS.

Working on TikTok campaigns with Brands on #paid

On #paid, creators that are part of the TikTok Creator Marketplace can connect with TikTok in their account settings to receive upcoming opportunities to work with brands on TikTok campaigns.

Once connected, your #paid profile will be updated and you'll be able to see your TikTok engagement metrics and recent posts. Brands on #paid will also be able to see your profile when selecting creators to work with on their TikTok campaign(s). If a brand is interested in collaborating with you, you’ll receive an email and/or SMS notification to log into #paid and review the campaign details and contract.
